Exploring the Land Down Under can be quite an undertaking, regardless of whether you’re living in the country or you’re flying in from another part of the world. It will be especially difficult if you only have two weeks to do it. Australia is a land of countless natural beauties and the adventures you run into can be some of the most memorable of your life. Therefore, you need to be well prepared and plan everything in detail to make sure you’ll have a safe and unforgettable trip.
Start from Sydney
Sydney is the best place to start your two-week adventure, so don’t waste a second after landing in this gorgeous city. Visit Bondi Beach or take a seaplane flight across the harbor to enjoy the view from above. To make sure you have enough time to see all the key points of Sydney, try to book a hotel in the heart of the city. Use the first four days to see the ritzy shopping arcades, immaculate botanic gardens, eclectic museums, and grand art galleries.
To have one of the most memorable city walks in your life, walk across the Harbour Bridge, climb the Pylon Lookout located on the Bridge, detour to Observatory Hill and go back down through The Rocks, past Circular Quay, the Opera House and through the gorgeous Botanic Gardens to Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair. Make sure you use those few days to visit Circular Quay and Taronga Zoo.
Go to Alice Springs
The next four days would be the perfect time to visit another Australian location. With a coach hire in Sydney, you’ll ensure a luxurious, safe, and comfortable trip around Australia. They’ll drive you safely to your next destination and even offer you a range of interesting coach tours such as a five-day coach tour to Birdsville Races for all the horse racing fans. If, on the other hand, you just decide to visit Alice Springs after Sydney, this spectacular location will be a true touristic delight for anyone who would like to learn more about Aboriginal and colonial history. Use your coach hire to drive to the next amazing sight ‒ Uluru and astounding Kata Tjuta to have a true desert adventure. The Red Centre is best seen through a scenic ride, so it’s best if you don’t fly to Alice Springs, but use the roads to see most of it.
Fly to Queensland
The last five days would be perfect for visiting Queensland, and finally seeing the Great Barrier Reef in all its glory. The Australian seaside will also offer you plenty of water-based activities, so aside from sightseeing, you can also go scuba diving or snorkeling. Daintree Rainforest is an absolute must see if you want to have a true indigenous tour of the Land Down Under.
You can also enjoy the view of the Great Barrier Reef from glass bottom boats and semi-submersibles at places like the nearby Green Island. You can catch a train to return to Cairns and visit their beautiful Botanic gardens.
Consider Going from One Coast to Another
If you’re an experienced traveler, you can use these two weeks in Australia to travel from coast to coast. After landing in Perth and enjoying all of its beauties, you can catch a train to the old city of Fremantle.
Use the first two days to visit Kings Park and historic Perth Mint. In the next five days think about visiting the Margaret River area, the region of cheese, chocolate and craft beer. During the last four days, drive back to Perth and fly to Sydney to enjoy all of its spectacular sights.
Exploring Australia in just two weeks may sound impossible, but it’s quite doable. While you won’t be able to see all of its wonders, you’ll have the chance to see some of the main sights, which will definitely make you come back the first chance you get.
